MONEY LAUNDERING 

Anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing

The exchange of large amounts of cash within the gaming industry, often involving the movement of funds between accounts in multiple countries, is making the gaming industry particularly vulnerable to money laundering activities. This is a look at global efforts to curb money laundering activities.

Internet-base technology has now made it possible to offer gambling activites traditionally associated with land-based gambling establishments in a virtual space. However, this new form of gambling remains prohibited in some African countries including South Africa. Are attempts to ban interactive gambling doomed to fail?
